Join us for a weekend getaway just outside of upstate New York in the prime of the Autumn season, nestled in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains where, surrounded by the fiercely gold-and-orange foliage of the surrounding woodlands and with the smell of warm spices tingling your senses, we will be sharing our knowledge about food styling, photography & blogging.

LOCATION
Deer Hill Farm is a sophisticated country estate situated on 225 private acres with a private lake ideal for swimming, fishing, picnicking and other activities. Located in the heart of the Delaware River Valley, this graceful residence has timeless appeal; the grounds, expansive yard and surrounding forest and lake make this a truly private retreat.
Inside you're greeted by large rooms that create bright, sunlit spaces for entertaining or relaxing. The main house is sprawling with meandering whitewashed corridors lined with hunting trophies and European art.
Deer Hill Farm is located under 10 miles outside of Callicoon, NY. You can reach the property in 2 hours 30 minutes by car from John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, NY.

We are so excited for you to join us! Together, we will take a deep dive in the world of professional blogging, talking, learning and offering hands-on experience on the woody, rich color hues our location has to offer. One on one sessions will complete your learning experience, and give you a precious chance to share and learn from fellow photographers.
Our baking sessions, centered around the charming smells of fall spices and ripe seasonal fruit, will focus on cake and pie making and styling: glazes, pie crust braiding, decorations with foliage and florals will serve our photography purposes, and afterwards let us indulge in the warmest flavors the golden season has to offer.

About Christiann

Valentina is an Italy and US-based photographer and author behind the 2- time Saveur Award-winning blog hortuscuisine.com, where she develops, styles, shoots and shares vegetarian, vegan and often gluten-free recipes, with a keen eye for fresh, local food and produce. She hosts workshops and classes about the arts of food photography and Italian / Mediterranean food, which she has mastered thanks to the experience of her family of cooks. She has worked with brands such as Free People, Weck, and several American publications, and is currently writing her own cookbook, scheduled to be released fall 2017 by Penguin Random House.
